Repent from your Sins

What is Lent? Lent is a season in which we especially focus on examining our hearts, confessing our sins. Lent  is the  season  to observe and commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God, our Savior and Redeemer. It is an opportune time to reflect on what it means to be a follower of Christ .   Lent  is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday,  Lent  is a  season  of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of  Lent , Christians replicate Jesus Christ's sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. During this pandemic, catholics faced many challenges just like attending the mass with face mask and face shield. Others cannot allow going out. Due to these lockdowns catholics have no other choice but to attend the mass online which is the Facebook live. Because of the Pandemic, catho...

No one will, No one can stop our Traditions

Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is one of the most enjoying fiestas of Ilocos Sur. Kanniwadan Festival is an annual festival to promote and preserve the culture of the province and its traditions. This festival is a very significant fiesta to every resident in the province of Ilocos Sur as they are celebrating the foundation of Ilocos Sur as a province under the Royal Decree signed on February 2, 1818. But this year, 202 2  because of the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic Kannawidan Festival is not that festive compared to other years. Kannawidan means heritage or inheritance and in Ilocano means “tawid”.   Kannawidan is a place for showcasing the traditions and cultures of different parts of Ilocos Sur. Kannawidan Festivals also have the highlights including the street dancing, marching band competition, trade fair, and chorale competition, and the most important part is the “one town, one product” of every town in Ilocos Sur. The struggle is real during this celebration. People wi...

New quarter, New knowledge acquired

Reflection for Second Quarter This second quarter I have acquired  new lessons will be added to my knowledge and exciting activities that I will do. And I was not disappointed because this second quarter I have learned about how to use the HTML.            The lessons of this quarter are easy for me to understand because I was super interested in it. I may have encountered problems but I easily coped up with it and went on. At the first lesson I did not understand it at first but I thrived to learn and I asked my brother what's all about the lesson and I understood it easily. And for the basic HTML it was easy for me and I love coding. Though I still had to memorize or review it because I’m someone who easily forgets things.             Moving on, I will keep what I am doing because it's a good practice and I will do my best to keep it. I will hope that the next quarter it will be exciting -- again -- and I hope th...

Fiesta is a time of joyful celebration of us Filipinos. Fiesta is one of the special and important events because they merge and nurture culture, history, and family. We also celebrate fiesta for the honor of our patron saints. But during these times, Fiesta is more enjoyable compared to previous years because of the ongoing pandemic. The Vigan City fiesta is held every 25 th  of January. Celebrating Vigan Fiesta this 2022 shows us how important our culture. The Vigan City fiesta is held in honor of St. Paul the Apostle. Every year, locals and tourists gather to experience and to watch the street dancing, food fairs, arts and crafts, and carnivals. Celebrating this kind of fiestas is very important mostly to the people who really embraced the culture of it. Culture is a word for the “way of life” of groups of people, meaning the way they do things. Our culture is the thing that makes us different from other people. Celebrating fiestas during this pandemic is very different t...

New Year, Another Difficult Chapter

Image
New Year is the time, the day where a new calendar year begins. Many people celebrate New Year and it is celebrated on January 1. Many of us had different styles in celebrating a new year. Some of us have their own New Year’s resolution too. But the question is can you keep your New Year’s Resolution?  Every start of a year we can expect a lot to happen. We can say that this year will the most joyful year ever but we can also expect some bad moments too. Last year, 2020 is not a good year for all of us because of the ongoing pandemic and until now we are not still safe. 2020 was not a great year. Many crucial events happened all around the world including the bombing in Beirut and the rapid spread of Covid-19 that became a pandemic. Year 2020 was a very different year that all of us are not used to. The Pandemic separated us from our love ones, cancelling our own events like graduating students. But nothing can stop us, all of us found a way on how to continue on what we use...

Learning during this pandemic for me is like taking homework every day without going to school.    For me the quality of Education during this pandemic is bad. People try their best to buy gadgets for their online classes. Can this pandemic really stop our learning?                 Department of Education (Deped) is trying their best to support students and pupils to stay productive although there is pandemic. Education in the Philippines can be through modular or online. For me, studying online and not face to face is hard because there is no teacher who is guiding you, . I also doubt that students will learn anything this school year because the modules and task given to students and pupils are limited. ...

Which do you think is that country? Yes it is the Philippines but have you ever wondered why this resources and tourist spot don’t make the country better? And why the Philippines is still a third world country?                 The situation in the Philippines right now is hard where one mistake of the country will lead to loss of opportunity to become a better country. Becoming allies in other countries is a big factor for becoming a better and strong country but it is a also a tough, and risky decision because if you allied to a wrong country it will lead to devastating outcome in the country of Philippines....
